‘Headspace’

UK-based sales company SC Films International has acquired international sales rights to action-adventure Headspace.

It is launching the title at animation market Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux, France this week (March 8-10).

Headspace is a South African production from Luma Animation and The Ergo Company. The film is nearing the end of production.

Luma’s Paul Meyer and Gerhard Painter are directing the film, and have co-written alongside Daniel Buckland and Ronald Henry. Producers are Ergo’s Dumi Gumbi and Cati Weinek. Backing comes from the South African Industrial Development Corporation, with support from the South African tax rebate.

South Africa’s Indigenous Film Distribution will handle the film in the African continent.

Headspace is about a freak accident that leaves three members of the Space Protection Force inside a 16-year-old’s brain on their microscopic spaceship. They must enlist the youngster’s help to save the Earth from an intergalactic villain who has assumed mind control of the school principal.

SC Films’ slate includes Michael Ekbladh’s Best Birthday Ever, plus the upcoming Marmaduke and My Father’s Secrets.
