EXCLUSIVE: Stellan Skarsgard, in Berlin with both Nymphomaniac and In Order Of Disappearance, is in talks to join Our Kind Of Traitor.

Ewan McGregor leads the cast of the John Le Carre thriller, which will start shooting before summer. StudioCanal is handling international sales and distributing in the UK, France, Germany and Australia.

Producers are Simon and Stephen Cornwell for The Ink Factory and Andrea Calderwood and Gail Egan for Potboiler Productions. StudioCanal backs with Film4.

McGregor will star in the international spy thriller as one half of a couple who gets mixed up with a Russian oligarch and major money launderer. Caught up in his plans to defect, they are soon positioned between the Russian Mafia and the British Secret Service.

Hossein Amini adapts the script and Susanna White willdirect the project (replacing the previously announced Justin Kurzel).

StudioCanal previously had a hit with another Le Carreadaptation, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Skarsgard has also recently shot Kenneth Branagh’s live-action Cinderella.
