Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, the heads of Warner Bros. Motion Pictures, are reportedly set to leave the studio after its $110bn merger with Paramount Skydance.

Paramount Pictures co-chairs Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein are understood to be taking charge of both film studios.

Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison has pledged the combined studios will release 30 movies a year.

De Luca and Abdy have enjoyed a strong run at Warner Bros releasing a slew of box-office successes including A Minecraft Movie, Superman, Weapons, and multiple Oscar winners Sinners and One Battle After Another.

A year ago, Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav renewed their contracts at the studio.

Their success came after a rocky period for the pair amid a string of costly flops for Warner Bros, including Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Joker: Folie à Deux and reports that Zaslav was interviewing potential replacements for them.

De Luca and Abdy’s exits were first reported by Puck and Variety, which cited multiple sources.

News of De Luca and Abdy’s departure comes a day after Ellison announced Mattel CEO Ynon Kriez as co-CEO, with a focus on the company’s day-to-day management and integration of the combined businesses.

It also comes amid reports that Cindy Holland, the head of streaming for Paramount+, will leave the business with HBO’s Casey Bloys set to run both platforms.
