The Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) announced today at its award ceremony that Pang Ho Cheung's Now Showing has secured finance from Hong Kong 's Sundream Motion Pictures and Beijing-based Huayi Brothers.

Huayi Brothers' Chen Kuo-fu, the Taiwanese director of Double Vision, is producing the film. Shooting is expected to start this summer in Hong Kong and partly in China.

Now Showing was one of the 25 projects that participated at HAF. It also picked up one of the two Hong Kong Cyberport Awards.

The script which Pang is close to completing revolves around a Hong Kong celebrity couple who fire their Filipina maid because she has been gossiping to the paparazzi and hire a girl directly from the Philippines.

In order to protect their privacy, the couple pretends that the husband is unemployed and that the wife is the family breadwinner.

'I came to the forum without any funding on the first day but by the third day I find the investors. HAF is a useful platform,' said Pang at the HAF awards ceremony today (March 22).

Pang's last film Isabella competed at Berlin last year. His new film Exodus is currently in post-production for an August release.
