Pathe Pictures International is to represent thisyear's Swedish Oscar entryAs It Is In Heaven forworld-wide sales.

As It Is In Heaven iswritten and directed by Kay Pollak and is about an internationally acclaimedmusic conductor who retires to his childhood village in the North of Sweden- and rediscovers his long lost joy for music by helping out thevillage's church choir. He also finds himself surrounded by enemies,including the jealous parish priest and a dangerous and violent rival from hispast.

It has scored over 1.2 million admissions in Sweden to date.As It Is In Heaven is produced by GFStudios/Anders Birkeland and Goran Lindstrom, in co-production with Sonet FilmMoviemakers Nord, Moviemakers Syd, Filmpool Nord, Sveriges Television and ASAFilmproduction, with the support from the Swedish Film Institute/FilmCommissioner Per Nielsen, the Danish Film Institute and Nordisk Film & TVFond.

The announcement was made by Alison Thompson, head of PathePictures International and Peter Possne, chief executive officer of Sonet Filmand associate producer of the film.
