The Shine Group has appointed BBC Films’ Paula Jalfon as senior vice president of production.

The ex BBC Films commercial manager will be responsible for overseeing the financing and production of the Group’s film operations Shine Pictures and Kudos Pictures.

In her new role, Jalfon will produce and executive produce films for Shine Pictures, the joint venture between Shine and Hollywood producer-financier New Regency and Kudos Pictures, working alongside co-heads Paul Webster and Stephen Garrett.  Shine’s next releases will be Brighton Rock and Salmon Fishing In The Yemen.

Webster said: “Paula is an original talent bursting with great ideas and enthusiasm. I’m delighted to be resuming a creative partnership with her at Shine Pictures, having worked with her on Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, a project I couldn’t have made without her.”

At BBC Films, Jalfon executive produced Streetdance 3D and In The Loop. Previously, she held the role of head of development and production at Ingenious Media, where investments included Shaun Of The Dead and Vera Drake.
