Mel Gibson's The Passion Of The Christ racked up a running total box office gross of $3,822,060 in its second week at number at the Polish box office.

An earlier announcement that the Pope had seen the film undoubtedly boosted box office in the highly Catholic country.

But Polish contemporary romance Nigdy W Zyciu! (Never Again) was doing excellent business in its fifth week in the charts and with a running gross of $4,614,846 it reaffirmed the continuing upbeat trend in Polish films.

Produced by Warsaw based MTL Maxfilm together with local broadcaster TVN and ITI Film Studio part of the ITI group who are also distributing the film through ITI Cinema-Interfilm, the film is directed by Ryszard Zatorski and boasts a cast of young popular Polish talent.

It follows the life of Judyta, a forty something professional woman who is so engrossed in her professional life that she fails to realize until it is too late that her marriage is in trouble.

With Lord Of The Rings probably reaching close to its total gross with $7,635,821 in its 10th week the results of the modest Never Again measure up well.
