Jesse Wigutow has signed on to rewrite Summit Entertainment’s action thriller The Osterman Weekendbased on Robert Ludlum’s novel. 

Robert Schwentke will direct after shooting the graphic novel adaptation Red for the studio. Peter Davis is producing through Davis-Panzer Productions banner along with Simon Kinberg via Genre Films, Doug Liman, and Jeffrey Weiner on behalf of Ludlum Entertainment. Henry Morrison will serve as executive producer.

The story follows a man whose weekend getaway with friends spirals into paranoia and murder after a reporter winds up dead after warning him that his friends are not who he thinks they are.

Wigutow wrote the screenplay for the upcoming Untitled Steve Mcqueen Biopic and is represented by UTA.

Summit’s president of production Erik Feig and vice-president of production Meredith Milton will oversee the project for the studio.
