London-based Bronwyn Pyke has been promoted to vice president, public relations, at London and Los-Angeles-based PR firm DDA, it was announced today (November 18).

It is the first major appointment by CEO Lawrence Atkinson and COO John Stannard since the pair acquired an equity stake in the company in October. The company, which was launched in the UK in 1970, and five years later in the US, is the largest agency in the international entertainment sector.

Since joining DDA in 2006 as director of UK publicity, Australian-born Pyke has been responsible for the UK campaigns of In the Loop, Sex And The City and Fame as well as coordinating the world premieres of Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince, High School Musical 3 and most recently Disney’s A Christmas Carol earlier this month. Current assignments include Nine, St Trinians 2 and The King’s Speech. She was previously head of PR at the Melbourne Film Festival and worked at Premier PR in the UK.

”Bronwyn has played a considerable role in DDA’s growth and success in the UK market from the moment we hired her.” said Atkinson.
