Shoreline Entertainment is handling worldwide sale rights on German English language thriller The Forbidden Girl, currently shooting in and around Jena and Berlin, Germany.

Written and directed by Till Hastreiter (Status Yo!),The Forbidden Girl is the story of a priest’s son (Peter Gadiot) who must rescue his first love and then overcome a dangerous adversary (Jeanette Hain).

Produced by EMP 1 Stereofilm, a subsidiary of European Motion Pictures, the feature is supported by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and DFFF, the German Feature Film Fund. GAP financing is provided by NRW Bank, Duesseldorf.

German distribution comes from Farbfilm-Verleih.

“We’re hoping The Forbidden Girl can prove the viability and success of smaller-budget, European 3D films,” said producers Holger Hage and Ingo Hamacher Bellacoola.

Post-production work on the film is being carried out by 3D and digital cinema specialists SPB Stereo-Post Production, Berlin.

The shoot, which began in August, is set to wrap at the end of October.
