UK-based sales company Bankside Films has picked up Alex Holdridge's acclaimed US comedy/drama In Search Of A Midnight Kiss.

In Search Of A Midnight Kiss film has already played at festivals including Tribeca, Edinburgh, AFI, Chicago, Sarajevo and Thessaloniki. The film had its market premiere here at the EFM with another screening on Tuesday.

The fiilm is already taken in North America (IFC Films) and the UK (Vertigo Films). Each plans a mid-2008 theatrical launch.

Scoot McNairy, Sara Simmonds, Brian Matthew McGuire, Katie Luong and Twink Caplan star in the story of two people looking for a special connection in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve.

Holdridge's past films include Wrong Numbers and Sexless. Seth Caplan and Scoot McNairy of Midnight Kiss Inc. produced with Anne Walker-McBay (Before Sunrise) serving as executive producer.

Also, Bankside has closed a number of deals on Damian Lewis-starring The Baker, a Wales-set comedy. 2Entertain has taken UK rights and will handle the UK theatrical release starting February 29 followed by a DVD launch in March. Other territories sold are Greece (Videorama), Denmark (Rialto), Brazil (Telecine), Central Europe (HBO), Hungary (Cinetel), Poland (Polsat), airlines (Jetstream), Israel (Orlando), the Middle East (Shooting Stars) and Turkey (D Productions).

Bankside's slate also includes Carl Bessai's Normal, Roger Spottiswoode's Shake Hands With The Devil and Anthony Byrne's How About You.
