IFC Films has taken US rights and Lionsgate has acquired the UK from Maximum Films International to Roger Goldby's drama The Waiting Room.

Maximum Films Distribution is handling the Canadian release on the interwoven tale of the lives and loves of a group of young Londoners. Anne-Marie Duff and Ralf Little star and the cast includes Rupert Graves, Frank Finlay, Zoe Telford and Phyllida Law.

The film got its market premiere on Feb 10 and screens again today [Tuesday] Maximum Films International chief Charlotte Mickie holds remaining international sales rights.

IFC will release in spring followed by VOD launch on its new Festival Direct platform in June. Lionsgate UK is eyeing a summer release and Maximum is scheduling a Canadian theatrical release this summer.

'Roger is such a talented film-maker and we knew right away that The Waiting Room was the perfect fit for IFC,' vice president of acquisitions and production Arianna Bocco said.

Maximum Film Distribution's managing director Bryan Gliserman added: 'We are proud to be associated with The Waiting Room, a wonderfully entertaining film'.
