Vancouver-based Horizon Motion Pictures has added Portuguese bullfighting documentary Taking The Face to its Cannes slate.
Horizon will represent worldwide sales excluding Portugal on Juliusz Kossakowski and Matthew Bishop's investigation into Portugal's love-hate relationship with the sport.
Shot in HD over the 2007 season, the film includes action footage and interviews with bullfighters, veterinarians, animal rights activists, aficionados, politicians, priests, and ranchers.
The producers hold Portuguese rights and a release in Portugal is expected later in the year.
