Madeleine Stowe is to star in Octane, the first production through the partnership between Buena Vista International and UK tax-based financier Random Harvest.

Also in the cast are Norman Reedus, Bijou Phillips, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Mischa Barton. The production, made under Random Harvest's genre label Four Horsemen Films, starts shooting next month in Luxembourg, with Delux Films co-producing.

Marcus Adams (Long Time Dead) will direct from a screenplay by Stephen Volk. Random Harvest's Alistair MacLean-Clark will produce alongside Basil Stephens.

Stowe plays a troubled woman who is travelling home at night with her teenage daughter, played by Barton, when they start to see surreal visions such as a couple picnicking by car-crash sites and a baby crawling up the white line in the middle of the road. Her daughter then disappears at a roadside coffee shop.
