Strand Releasing has acquired all US rights from Visit Films to Ole Schell and Sara Ziff’s documentary Picture Me and has scheduled a summer theatrical release.

Strand Releasing co-president Jon Gerrans negotiated the deal with Visit Films’ Ryan Kampe, who is handling worldwide sales at EFM with business partner Sylvain Tron and expects to close sales in Germany and all rights in the UK shortly.

Picture Me charts Schell’s life with girlfriend and model Ziff and goes behind the scenes at some of the world’s biggest fashion shows to she light on the high glamour industry.

“This documentary delves into the keen insight of the lifestyles and compromises that models have to take for their grueling careers,” Gerrans said.

“This is an incredibly important film that confronts many issues surrounding the fashion industry,” Visit’s Kampe and Sylvain Tron said. “We are happy to be working with a company that has the capacity to market this to the right audience in an appropriate manner.”

Visit’s EFM slate includes Harmony Korine’s Trash Humpers, Eyad Zahra’s The Taqwacores, Valerie Donzelli’s The Queen Of Hearts (La Reine des Pommes), Sophie Deraspe’s Vital Signs (Les Signes Vitaux), and Pictures Me.

Rights to Picture Me have already gone to Channel 4 (UK), Eurozoom (France), Vendetta (Australia and New Zealand (Vendetta), and Jaguar (airlines).
