Summit Entertainment's The Alibi which the international production,sales and financing outfit is co-financing with Jim Stern's Endgame startedprincipal photography yesterday in Los Angeles with a stellar cast in place.

Joining the previously announced Steve Coogan, RebeccaRomijn-Stamos and James Marsden are Sam Elliot, James Brolin, Selma Blair, JohnLeguizamo, Jamie King, Henry Rollins and Jerry O'Connell.

Meanwhile Summit has unveiled sales it has completed on thepicture - with Entertainment in the UK, Metropolitan in France, RAI Cinema inItaly, Tobis in Germany, Gaga in Japan, Nordisk in Scandinavia, Belga inBenelux and Hoyts in Australia.

The film is the directorialdebut of Kurt Matilla and Matt Checkowski, who began their career as visualconsultants on Minority Report. Written by Noah Hawley and Collin Friesen, itstars Coogan as Ray Elliot, a man who runs an alibi service for men and womenwho want to spend some quality time away from their so-called loved ones.

Romijn-Stamos plays a new employee of his agency, with Marsden asthe son of his biggest client (Brolin) who accidentally strangled hisgirlfriend (King) on the eve of his wedding to another woman. Ray suddenlyfinds himself linked to the murder and must clear his name for murder.

Summit's PatrickWachsberger and Erik Feig are producing The Alibi, with Summit's Bob Hayward and DavidGarrett and Endgame's Stern acting as executive producers. Paul Hellerman andAdrienne Biddle are also producers.
