Summit International has reunited with Darren Aronofsky and will commence international pre-sales at AFM on the drama The Wrestler starring Nicolas Cage.

Aronofsky will direct and is producing alongside Cage and Norm Golightly's Saturn Films and producer Scott Franklin. Jean-Luc De Fanti and Jeff Sagansky's Winchester Capital Partners is financing the independent project.

Robert Siegel wrote the screenplay about Randy 'The Ram' Robinson, a washed-up 1980s-era wrestling star who scrapes by doing small-time matches in New Jerseys gritty backwaters.

'I am so pleased to once again be working with Darren,' Summit Entertainment president and co-chairman Patrick Wachsberger said.

'After Pi and Requiem For A Dream we at Summit have come to know Darren as one of the most inventive and talented directors of his generation.'
