Morris Ruskin’s Shoreline has picked up worldwide sales rights to Luciano Moura’s Brazilian feature debut Father’s Chair (A Cadeira Do Pai) ahead of its premiere in the World Dramatic Competition in Park City on Friday (20).

Meanwhile ro*co Films International has come on board as international sales agent on the documentary We’re Not Broke from Karin Hayes and Victoria Bruce, set to debut in the US Documentary Competition on Sunday (22).

Moura co-wrote Father’s Chair with Elena Soarez and the story follows a doctor in search of his missing teenage son. Ruskin described it as “a powerful story about self discovery.”

Shoreline discovered the film at the Ventana Sur market in Buenos Aires last December and evp Sam Eigen negotiated the deal with producer Andrea Barata Ribeiro. Fernando Meirelles and his 02 partner Bel Berlinck also produced.

We’re Not Broke explores the activities of US corporations which benefit from tax loopholes. Paradigm Motion Picture Finance Group represents North American rights.
