Independent production company Telespan 2000, headed byTomas Cimadevilla, has confirmed it is to go ahead with the sequel to TheOther Side of The Bed (El Otro Lado de La Cama).

The original film was the highest-grossing Spanish film of2002, netting $15.1m at the box office and headlining Paz Vega amidst anensemble cast of players. Now The Other Side of the Bed 2 is set tostart shooting in "October-November," said Cimadevilla, "with largely the sameartistic team. We're talking to all the actors."

Like the original, this will also be a musical, and has beenwritten by David Serrano, who wrote Bed and went on to direct smash hit FootballDays (Dias de Futbol), also for Telespan 2000.

Bed 2 will be released in summer 2005, said Cimadevilla,and has the largest budget of any Telespan 2000 project in development, atEuros 4-5 million. Telespan 2000 has recently taken a cash injection from aSpanish savings bank in return for 20 percent of the company and taken Serranoon board with a small shareholding. Telespan is also developing a Bed stageshow.
