TLA Releasing has acquired all North American and UK theatrical, home video, television and VOD rights to Poj Arnon's Thai film Bangkok Love Story.

The company plans a summer 2008 release on the story of an assassin who falls in love with the man he is sent to execute.

Rattanaballang Tohssawat, Chaiwat Tongsaeng and Suchao Pongwilai star in the film, which opened in Thailand in September.

TLA's vice president of acquisitions Jennifer Arndt-Johns negotiated the deal with Sahamongkolfilm International's executive vice president Gilbert Lim.

Arndt-Johns called Bangkok Love Story a 'visually exciting film filled with action, romance and a fresh twist.'

'We are very excited to be working with TLA Releasing on this movie,' Lim said. 'I know that they will do an amazing job with the release of this movie in both the US and the UK.
