Kathleen Turner will serve as president of the jury at the 34th Annual Flanders International Film Festival, set to run in Ghent, Belgium, from Oct 9-20.

Turner, who served as a juror at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004, is best known for film roles in Body Heat, Romancing The Stone and Peggy Sue Got Married, for which she earned an Oscar nomination.

She has also starred on Broadway in Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and The Graduate.

Festival organisers plan to screen more than 200 films, shorts and documentaries in and out of competition at the 11-day event, which will feature a tribute to the cinema of Argentina.

The festival will host the 7th edition of the World Soundtrack Awards on Oct 20, featuring live concerts by double Oscar winner Gustavo Santaolalla, Alberto Iglesias, and Mychael Danna.

Previous Flanders International Film Festival jurors include Jeanne Moreau, Julia Ormond, Brenda Blethyn, Mike Figgis, Christopher Lee and the Oscar winning composer Maurice Jarre.
