Indian digital cinema pioneer UFO Moviez has signed an exclusive deal with DG2L Technologies for digital cinema equipment and support.

The deal will cover a record 1,500 digital cinema systems to be supplied by DG2L, which is headquartered in New York and has offices in Taiwan, Singapore, Brussels, Mumbai, Pune, Silicon Valley, and Beijing.

DG2L hold a 49% stake in UFO Moviez.

UFO currently has 800 digital cinema installations, making it the largest digital cinema network in the world. UFO also delivers films via satellite directly to theatres using a unique pay per show business model.

UFO's international growth, including plans to expand from India to Europe, is being pushed forward by recent $22m backing from investment fund 3i.
