UK cinema chain Vue Entertainment is continuing the diversification of its programme offerings by hosting a live Formula One event.

In a first, Vue will screen Formula One racing live and uninterrupted from the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on July 8. The event will be broadcast to big screens at 30 multiplexes across the UK in HD Quality and Dolby Digital 5:1 Surround Sound.

Tickets for the advertisement break-free broadcast are going for about $29 (£15) each. The cost also includes a free official race programme as well as refrshments.

The broadcast is part of a partnership between Vue and Supervision.

This follows on Vue's plans to simulcast a Genesis gig live from Dusseldorf on Wednesday.

Mark de Quervain, sales and marketing director for Vue Entertainment said: 'This is the first of many Grand Prix broadcasts in partnership with Supervision which broadens Vue's offering to our customers.'
