Steve Buscemi, Stanley Tucciand Bob Balaban have signed on to remake three features by the late Dutchfilmmaker Theo van Gogh, who is honoured in Toronto with a selection of screenings and a paneldiscussion.

An early 2006 start-date isexpected on the projects, which will shoot back-to-back on digital video in New York and are being produced by Holland's Column Productions and New York's Ironworks Productions.

The three projects are 06,van Gogh's 1994 Dutch Oscar submission about two people who meet on a phone sexline and embark upon a relationship without ever meeting; Blind Date,the 1996 tale of grieving parents who try to reinvent themselves through aseries of personal ads; and 2003's Interview, about a politicaljournalist who falls out with his editor and is relegated to interviewing asoap star.

Column Productions' Gijs vande Westelaken and Ironworks Productions' Bruce Weiss will serve as producers,and Sheila Jaffe will handle casting.

The outspoken Van Gogh wasshot and stabbed by Amsterdam-born Muslim Mohammed Bouyeri last November, inresponse to his 2004 television project Submission, about themistreatment of Muslim women.
