IFP have today announced a new partnership with UK-based cross-media organisation Power to the Pixel. Their first joint venture will be the launch of the first annual IFP/Power to the Pixel Cross-Media Forum on April 19.

Taking place in New York, the Forum will provide networking opportunities for creators and funders, and will consist of a conference and a series of project presentations allowing cross-media producers to pitch to industry leaders. The cross-media projects presented at the Forum will also be included in IFP’s Independent Film Week this autumn.

IFP is a non-profit organisation which represents and advocates for independent filmmakers. It represents 10,000 filmmakers in New York and around the world, supporting the development of features and documentaries, and running workshops, seminars and mentorship programmes for its members.

Power to the Pixel is a London-based organisation, now in its fifth year, devoted to helping filmmakers and companies in the digital age. PTTP runs a Cross-Media Forum each October in association with the London Film Festival, and also runs The Pixel Lab.

“Power to the Pixel’s cross-media projects are a natural fit for IFP and its future-forward programmatic mission. We look forward to redoubling our efforts to educate artists in new ways of storytelling and ensure that we support content-creators in all formats. Working hand in hand with Power to the Pixel, this is truly a future full of possibilities for us all,” said Amy Dotson, Deputy Director and Head of Programming for IFP.

“We’re honoured to be collaborating with IFP on this exciting new venture, and thrilled about the prospect of building stronger relationships between Power to the Pixel’s network of cross-media experts and US talent. IFP is the perfect partner for us in the U.S,” added PTTP founder Liz Rosenthal [pictured].

The schedule for the IFP/Power to the Pixel Cross-Media Forum will be announced in March 2011.
