Warner Bros India has announced its second local Indian film production, Shona Urvashi's sophomore effort Saas Bahu Aur Sensex (SBS).

Principal photography on the film, produced by PLA Entertainment and Warner Bros, has been completed and post work has begun. The film is slated for release on September 12.

Saas Bahu Aur Sensex - which literally means 'mother-in-law, daughter-in-law and the Sensex' (the Indian stock market barometer), but is translated as 'From Television Soaps To The Stock Market' - is an urban comedy-drama based on an original screenplay by Shona Urvashi.

Set against the backdrop of a blazing stock market, SBS explores new Indian affluence and was shot in upcoming neighbourhoods of New Bombay and Pune.

The film's ensemble star cast features an eclectic blend of young actors like Ankur Khanna, Tanushree Dutta and Masumeh Makhija and veteran actors like Kirron Kher, Farooq Shaikh and Lillette Dubey.

Urvashi, who previously directed Chupke Se, said, 'Saas Bahu Aur Sensex is a fun film on the changing face of India. The story has the Sensex as a backdrop to the lives of the most unlikely investors.

'Associating with Warner Bros means working with people who are willing to back an interesting subject and know how to sell films in new markets,' Urvashi said.

Neeraj Goswami, Warner Bros Pictures India director national sales, added, 'We have been excited about Saas Bahu Aur Sensex since we first read the script. We see it as a movie with broad-based appeal from teens to adults and families.'

Production company PLA group has been associated with filmed entertainment for over 50 years, and produced silver jubilee hits like Khatta Meetha and Chashme Buddoor.

Executive producer Raman Lamba said, 'Through this film we hope to make more people aware that our economy is growing and it's the right time to make wise investments and make money. Indians are terrific, progressive people and this film shows that in a lighthearted way.'

Warner Bros Pictures India's other local production, in association with Orion Pictures, is the Akshay Kumar-starrer Made In China, which is currently in production.
