The Oscar winning director of Crash and Million Dollar Baby will pick up his award at a cermony as part of the Zurich Film Festival on October 1.
Canadian born director Paul Haggis will also take part in a masterclass during the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF), which runs September 22-October 2.
The festival will put on a retrospective of his work including screenings of Crash, Casino Royale and In The Valley Of Elah.
Festival director Karl Spoerri said he was “excited for those who will have the rare opportunity to peer into the mind of Mr. Haggis during the Zurich Film Festival master class and are equally excited for the entire film going audience that will be treated to his best works on the big screen.”
As previously announced, Sean Penn is being honoured with the Zurich Film Festival’s Golden Icon Award. Laurence Fishburne, who stars in the festival’s opening film Contagion, is to head the international jury and will also receive a special achievement award.
