Bill Lawrence has been named to the new post of creative director at Sheffield, UK-based Showroom and Workstation.

He will will be responsible for all of the company's creative programming including films, seasons, retrospectives, cross artform exhibitions and projects and entertainment.

Bill was most recently Head of Film at the National Media Museum in Bradford and is a director on the Boards of Screen Yorkshire, Bradford - City of Film and the York Film Trust. He set up the Bradford Film Festival in 1995, as well as the Bradford Animation Festival from 1994 and the Bite the Mango Film Festival (the largest Black and Asian film festival in Europe) from 1995. In April 1997 Bill became head of film for the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television.
