Cinemavault Releasing International has acquired foreign rights to Made in Jamaica, which screens in Cannes official selection in the Cinema De La Plage section on May 25.

Jerome Lapperousaz directed the Lawrence Pictures and Herold & Family production, which explores the roots of reggae and its rapid growth into a worldwide phenomenon. Sly Dunbar, Toots, Gregory Isaacs, Bunny Wailer, Third World, Elephant Man and Beres Hammond are among the interviewees.

MK2 will release in France on June 13, while Hexagon Pictures plans a Japanese theatrical launch and Canal Plus has acquired Polish rights.

Cinemavault's Cannes slate also includes Mark Brokaw's race crime drama Spinning Into Butter starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Miranda Richardson, James Rebhorn and Mykelti Williamson. The film is having its first market screening.
