Filminghas started on Severance, a comedy-horror film from Chris Smith andJason Newmark, the director and producer team behind hit horror film Creep.

The castincludes Danny Dyer, star of The Football Factory and the upcoming film TheBusiness; Laura Harris (The Faculty); Tim Mcinnerny (Blackadder)and Toby Stephens (Die Another Day).

The film, which was written by James Moran, is set around a team-buildingweekend for an arms manufacturer held in the mountains of Eastern Europe.Comedy blends with horror as the company'sEuropean sales team fight first amongst themselves, and later for survivalagainst a group of war-crazed killers intent on revenge.

Severance will shoot on location in themountains outside Budapest, Hungary and on the Isle of Man. Productiondesign is by John Frankish, whose previous credits include Creep,Thunderbirds, and Johnny English.

QwertyFilms and the UK Film Council present Severance in association with TheIsle of Man Film Commission. The film is produced by N1 European FilmProduktions and Dan Films, will be distributed in the UK by Pathe Distributionand is being sold worldwide by HanWay Films.

UK Film Council's Premiere Fund invested £750,000 intothe project.
