IM Global head Stuart Ford has unveiled the Anthem world sales division’s prestige AFM slate, led by Jose Padilha’s smash sequel to his Brazilian crime saga Elite Squad.

Anthem sales chief David Jourdan will be showing footage from Elite Squad 2: The Enemy Within, which has become the biggest Brazilian release of the last 25 years and amassed more than $41m and eight million admissions since the October 8 launch.

Wagner Moura reprises his role as the police officer Nascimento, now promoted to captain, as he battles rampant corruption in Rio government circles. Anthem holds all rights excluding Brazil, where Zazen Producoes is distributing.

Anthem is also handling international sales on the current number one film in Italy, Fausto Brizzi’s comedy Maschi Contro Femmine (Men Versus Women), which grossed more than $5m in its local debut last weekend. The film is screening at AFM.

The slate includes Paranormal Activity: Tokyo Night, the Japanese sequel to the global horror phenomenon and set to open in Japan through Presidio on November 20 on 300 screens.

Rounding out Jourdan’s roster is the rom-com Break Ke Baad starring Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone and directed by Danish Aslam. The film screens at the market and follows a couple who break up. IM Global parent company Reliance will release day-and-date in India, the UK, US and Canada on November 26.
