Nicolas Cage has joined the cast of Pay The Ghost, which Voltage Pictures will be selling in Cannes.
Uli Edel, whose credits include The Baader Meinhof Complex, will direct the story about a diligent professor whose son goes missing from a Halloween day parade.
Dan Kay wrote the screenplay based on a short story of the same name by cult horror and dark fantasy novellist Tim Lebbon.
Voltage is currently casting the other principal roles in anticipation of selling the film at the Cannes Film Market.
