Spanish distributor Golem has bought the rights to Lars Von Trier’s Antichrist and Michael Haneke’s The White Ribbon for distribution in Spain.

Trust Nordisk has continued to find buyers for Antichrist, despite the controversial film dividing opinion at its Cannes screening. IFC has taken US rights and Artificial Eye will distribute the film in the UK.

Antichrist is produced by Zentropa Entertainment and will be released in Spanish cinemas next month.

Haneke’s tense pre-First World War drama The White Ribbon has received widespread praise at Cannes. French outfit Les Films Du Losange has already managed to sell the film to Sony Pictures Classics in the US.

Golem has not yet finalized a release date for The White Ribbon, which is produced by X Filme Creative Pool, Les Films Du Losange, Wega Film and Lucky Red.
