Gooding, Martinez line up for John Eyre's The Last Warrior

Cuba Gooding Jr, Olivier Martinez and Sergio Peris-Mencheta are in final negotiations to star in John Eyres’ $15m (€11m) post-apocalyptic action film The Last Warrior.

Hannibal Pictures holds worldwide rights and production is set to begin in mid-July in Hungary.

The story, which is based on Eyres’ script, is set in the not-too-distant future. It sees the head of security at a war-mongering corporate go after a rogue soldier who has been genetically enhanced.

Gary Howsam, Hannibal’s Richard Rionda Del Castro, Gyorgy Peter Bruno, anMarco Mehlitz will produce the German-Hungarian co-production. Patricia Eberle, and Oscar Generale serve as executive producers.

Hannibal’s sales slate includes Casino Jack starring Kevin Spacey, Barry Pepper and Kelly Preston in the story of disgraced former Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
