Cohen Media Group chairman and CEO Charles S Cohen announced in Cannes that the company has acquired National Book Award winner Edward Ball’s recently published The Inventor And The Tycoon.

The book recounts the true story of photography and film pioneer Edward Muybridge and the wealthy industrialist and politician Leland Stanford who supported his defence in a murder trial. Cohen negotiated the deal with Ball’s representatives at ICM agency.

“Edward Muybridge’s great accomplishments are well known, but his life story has faded over time,” said Cohen. “Edward Ball’s remarkable book brings Muybridge and all his uniqueness back to life, and we are thrilled to be able to bring his story to the screen.”
