EXCLUSIVE: UK outfit Intandem Films has snapped up international rights to Comes A Bright Day, the new British love story/thriller starring Craig Roberts [pictured] and Imogen Poots.

Revered British fashion designer Paul Smith is dressing the lead cast for the film.

Shooting begins next week on location around Mayfair and at London’s Elstree Studios. The film is being made through Smudge Films, Matador Pictures, Lost Tribe Productions and Ipso Facto Films.

Comes A Bright Day is written and directed by Simon Aboud. Roberts (Submarine), Poots (28 Weeks Later) play hostages during a Mayfair jewellery store heist. The cast also features Kevin McKidd as the robber and Timothy Spall as the store owner.

“Paul Smith says everything the film is about” she said “his style is just so timeless and elegant, with Paul’s clothes and the stills photographer Mary McCartney shooting [on set] we know we’re going to end up with something very special,” producer Christine Alderson of Ipso Facto commented.

Simon Aboud said, “I can’t wait to get started with Craig and Imogen and I’m really excited that Kevin and Timothy are joining us. Kevin’s going to bring some real intensity and energy to his role as a very idiosyncratic armed robber and we’ll fall totally in love with Tim’s Charlie”

Lost Tribe Productions’ CEO, Hugh Spurling, added “We’re very excited to be involved in Comes A Bright Day. We immediately loved the script and Simon’s vision for the project, and we can’t wait to see it come to life”.  Nigel Thomas at Matador also added that “Simon’s script is funny, gripping and full of heart, and with a brilliant cast, we’re thrilled to be part of this wonderful project.”

Comes A Bright Day is financed by Matador Pictures, Regent Capital and Lost Tribe Productions.

The Foo Fighters have given special permission for the use of their hit track My Hero.
