Director Dardenne to head jury of five for student and short film prizes.
Jean-Pierre Dardenne will preside over the Cannes Cinefondation and short films jury, which also includes Canadian actress Arsinée Khanjian, Brazilian writer-director Karim Ainouz, French writer-director Emmanuel Carrere, and Chinese director and cinematographer Lik-Wai Yu.
The jury will select three films presented in the Selection of Cinefondation strand, composed of works from cinema-schools, to which they will award prizes of €15,000, €11,250 and €7,500 respectively.
These awards will be presented on May 25 in Cannes, at a ceremony in the Salle Bunuel, followed by a screening of the winning films.
The jury will also award the Palme d’Or for short films, to be presented at the festival’s closing ceremony on May 27.
