The Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council’s New York-based film festival (MIAAC) wrapped five days of screenings and events at the weekend with the US premiere of Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s The Endless Wait (Antaheen).

The evening concluded with the awards ceremony, when Joseph Mathew-Varghese’s Bombay Summer was presented with the best film award and Lalit Vachani’s The Salt Stories was named best documentary.

All in all the festival premiered 44 Indian and diaspora films and staged a sidebar on Kashmir in Film. Discussion panelsfocused on queer Bollywood and the changing landscape of Indian film business, among other topics.
