Visit Films has acquired two new titles screening in the Rotterdam International Film Festival as the New York-based sales company bolsters its slate in the run-up to EFM.
Visit will commences sales on Harmony Korine’s Trash Humpers and Sophie Deraspe’s Les Signes Vitaux (Vital Signs), while continuing to sell Oliver Hermanus’ Shirley Adams.
Both Trash Humpers and Les Signes Vitaux will receive their market premieres at the EFM in Berlin.
Trash Humpers premiered in Toronto and follows a small group of elderly Peeping Toms who document their debased and shocking actions. Rachel Korine, Brian Kotzur and Travis Nicholson star.
Les Signes Vitaux centres on Simone, a student, who has been drifting through life after a family member dies. She finds meaning in her life after she embarks on a journey to help those about to die.
Deraspe wrote and directed her feature directorial debut. Nicolas Fonseca produced and the film stars Marie-Helene Bellavance and Francis Ducharme.
Shirley Adams is the first feature from Oliver Hermanus and was produced by Jeremy Nathan and Michelle Wheately, with Roland Emmerich serving as executive producer.
Shot in Cape Town, it tells the story of a strong woman who cares for her son after he is involved in a shooting. Denise Newman stars.
