Ealing Studios International has taken on worldwide sales rights (excluding the US) to Michael Epstein’s LENNONYC.

The documentary is about the last decade of John Lennon’s life and features exclusive access to the Lennon archive including home movies, concert outtakes, studio footage and interviews.

The film is timed to celebrate what would have been Lennon’s 70th birthday in October 2010, and it also marks the 30th anniversary of his death in December.

Ealing is offering buyers a sneak preview of the film today [9] in Toronto and has set up offices during the festival at the Hyatt Regency’s Regency Club.

The film will then screen at the New York Film Festival later this month. It will have its US TV premiere as part of PBS’ American Masters strand in November.

LENNONYC is a co-production of Two Lefts Don’t Make A Right Productions, Dakota Group and THIRTEEN’s American Masters in association with WNET.ORG for PBS.

Epstein’s past projects include The Battle Over Citizen Kane, None Without Sin, and American Masters: Hitchcock and Selznick.

Producers are Epstein, Jessica Levin and Susan Lacy (creator of American Masters). Executive producers are Stanley Buchthal and Michael Cohl.
