The Film Agency For Wales is backing Blind Eye, written by Penarth, Wales-based writer Anna Holmes. The film is currently in development.

The story is about a freelance forestry consultant whose principles are challenged working for the UK government in Indonesia, where illegal logging is a problem.

New Zealand-born Holmes has a background in broadcast journalism and has a background with the subject matter, she and her partner run ethical timber company Ecotimber.

'The Film Agency has offered great support - both practical and financial - which I am grateful for,' Holmes said. 'Illegal logging and the corruption in the international timber trade lends itself so well to a strong plot that is both moving and thought-provoking. This is not an art-house movie, my hope is that the script is commercial enough to have appeal to a general audience.'
