Glasgow Film festival to sell fims via Facebook

The festival, which kicked off its 2012 edition today, is to create an online collection of short films from this year’s Glasgow Short Film Festival Scottish Competition, with selected films also made available to buy on the festival’s faceboook pages.

The Glasgow Film Festival will be able to sell films on facebook, through its partnership with sharable video-on-demand player inventors Distrify.

The festival is to create an online collection of short films from this year’s Glasgow Short Film Festival Scottish Competition programme, with one film also featured daily and available to buy, on the festival’s facebook pages.

The selection includes Scottish Audience Award-winning Philippa and Nancy plus several titles straight after their World or Scottish Premieres during the festival.

They are all available for 99p or less and some are available worldwide. Others have had to limit their availability to preserve premiere status in other territories.

The Glasgow Short Film Festival ran from February 9-12 and screened over 150 films screen in fifty-three events The 2012 edition of the Glasgow Film Festival runs Feb 16-26 in sixteen venues across the city.
