Los Angeles-based IM Global has acquired worldwide rights to Anonymous Content's $8m ensemble UK kidnap drama 44 Inch Chest.

IM Global managing director Stuart Ford will commence pre-sales here on the project, which reunites Ray Winstone with his Sexy Beast co-star Ian McShane and also stars John Hurt.

Steve Golin is producing the film, which is set to begin shooting in December and explores the consequences when a man and his friends kidnap his wife's Italian lover.

As the hostage situation escalates the emotional stakes rise for each of the prideful men.

Commercials director Malcolm Venville makes his directorial debut from a screenplay by Sexy Beast writers Louis Mellis and David Scinto.

Golin is producing with Richard Brown, who brought the project to Ford and his team.

'I want IM Global to be a big supporter of British cinema - especially movies as smart, hip and explosive as 44 Inch Chest,' Ford said, adding that Golin was an 'unparalleled tastemaker and discoverer of new talent.'

IM Global is also selling the Untitled Larry Charles Project here, and will be screening footage and hosting a press conference with Charles and narrator Bill Maher on Saturday.

The sales roster includes After.Life with Kate Bosworth and Geoffrey Rush, Tennessee Williams' The Loss Of A Teardrop Diamond starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Evans and David Strathairn, and thriller The Killer's Game written by Simon Kinberg.
