Joel Kennedy has joined UK distributor Revolver Entertainment as senior acquisitions manager.

Separately, the company announced that it has acquired Sundance hit The Wackness starring Ben Kingsley, and buzz French title Female Agents starring Sophie Marceau. The Wackness is sold by Celluloid Dreams and Female Agents by TF1 International.

Kennedy will acquire content across theatrical, DVD, and VOD for Revolver in the UK and also for its new US label. He reports to head of business affairs Nick Savva and managing director Justin Marciano.

His first market will be MIPTV.

Kennedy had been at 4DVD, commissioning and acquiring content for Channel 4's DVD division. Before that, he was product manager home entertainment at Artificial Eye and worked in development at Little Bird.

'Joel is a vital addition to our team at Revolver as he comes equipped with excellent relationships with TV broadcasters and independent producers,' Marciano said. 'We are looking to expand into TV on DVD whilst increasing our buying power over the coming months and I know that Joel's broad experience will help us find the kinds of titles Revolver loves to distribute.'
