Munich-based Telepool has boarded U-900, the third feature film by The Lives Of Others producer Wiedemann & Berg Filmproduktion, as a sales agent and co-financier.

The comedy about a submarine on the run in 1944 Germany is directed by Sven Unterwaldt (7 Zwerge)starring German sitcom star Atze Schroeder, Oliver K. Wnuk (Manitou's Shoe), Yvonne Catterfeld (Lilly The Witch), Goetz Otto (Tomorrow Never Dies) and Maxim Mehmet (The Red Baron).

Backing for U-900, which will be released theatrically in Germany by Warner Bros. Entertainment in September 2008, came from the Bavarian regional fund FFF Bayern and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF).

The first two weeks of principal photography were spent at the Bavaria Film studios outside of Munich and the production will now be shooting on Malta and in Rome until the beginning of November.

Wiedemann & Berg's first film after the Oscar-winning The Lives Of Others, the military comedy Kein Bund Fuers Leben by Granz Henman, was released theatrically in Germany two weeks ago by Constantin Film.

Producers Max Wiedemann and Quirin Berg are in final preparation with Grave Decisions director Marcus H. Rosenmuellerfor a TV movieabout Mathias Kneissl, the last robber to be executed in Bavaria.

'This is the ideal project for 'Rosi',' Max Wiedemann suggests, 'because it will give him a chance to show his own particular style. Our approach to the story will be more in keeping with the present times, it will have more power and be very Bavarian.'
