Eva Longoria, Jason Biggs and Rob Corddry will star in Starz Media and Ambush Entertainment's comedy Lower Learning.

Starz Media will handle the worldwide theatrical release. The film will get a domestic theatrical release through an as yet undetermined distributor, and will launch on DVD through Starz Media subsidiary Anchor Bay in North America, the UK and Australia.

Production is set to begin in and around Los Angeles in late October on the story of a school inspector (Longoria) who teams up with a vice-principal (Biggs) to oust an unpopular principal.

Mark Lafferty will direct from a screenplay he wrote based on a story by Shahin Chandrasoma.

Matt Leutwyler and Sim Sarna are producing and Scott D Greenberg, Karen Bailey and Kent Rice of Starz Media are serving as executive producers with Miranda Bailey of Ambush Entertainment.

Anchor Bay Entertainment vice president of acquisitions Mark Ward brought the project to Starz Media.

Ambush Entertainment's previous films include The Squid And The Whale, The Oh In Ohio, Dead & Breakfast, and the upcoming Unearthed, which will be released in November through After Dark Films' '8 Films To Die For' series.

The company is currently in production on Josh Goldin's Wonderful World starring Matthew Broderick and Sanaa Lathan.
