EXCLUSIVE: Berlin-based sales outfit Raspberry&Cream has sold Cheryl Dunye’s kinky comedy Mommy Is Coming to TLA Releasing for the US, Canada and France.
Speaking exclusively to ScreenDaily, Raspberry&Cream’s Anne Wiedlack said: “We are very happy about this sale because Cheryl is one of the few female film-makers who uncompromisingly depicts lesbian sexuality; she shows something that hasn’t been seen before. And we are very proud to be among the first to discover and supply this demand to the market and also help create awareness.”
TLA Releasing’s Adam Silver added that his company was “very excited to be releasing Mommy Is Coming in North America and France. A truly boundary-breaking and thrilling film by a real visionary, it truly reflects the kind of cutting-edge cinema TLA is always proud to associate with.”
Dunye’s film had its world premiere in the Berlinale’s Panorama in February and received the Feminist Porn Award in Toronto this month for its ‘orgasmic original concept’.
