Ido Abram, the director for training and development centre Binger Filmlab, is leaving to join Eye, the new national film agency for the Netherlands.

Abram will head communication, marketing and public and industry relations at the new organisation when he joins in May. His replacement at Binger Filmlab has yet to be announced.

Eye, which officially launched on December 31, has been formed by bringing together the Filmmuseum, promotional agency Holland Film, The Dutch Institute for Film Education (NIF) and Filmbank, which promotes and distributes experimental film. It is led by Sandra den Hamer, a former director of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR)

It is hoped that a single industry body will be able to serve the industry on both a national and international level.

Abram has been with Binger FilmLab for five years and is also a former director at CineMart. Prior to that, he was head of public relations and industry affairs at the IFFR.
