David Jourdan’s T&C Pictures International and Icon have struck a deal for UK rights to Scott Sanders’ Sundance hit Black Dynamite.

The blaxploitation homage will get its first market screening at Cannes and was one of the hottest titles in Utah, where Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group paid $2m for North American rights. It is also scheduled to screen in the Spotlight programme at Tribeca.

Jourdan brokered the UK sale with Icon’s Ian Dawson and Toby Hill.

T&C Pictures International boarded Black Dynamite shortly before the EFM and since then has closed deals with Pretty Pictures in France, Svensk Film in Scandinavia, Wild Bunch in Benelux, Front Row in the Middle East, and Aerofilm in the Czech Republic.
