Frank Martinez, formerly of A24, has joined Bleecker Street as head of distribution.
Effective immediately, Martinez reports to Bleecker CEO Kent Sanderson and will lead the company’s theatrical distribution strategies, planning, and execution across the Bleecker Street and Crosswalk slates.
Martinez previously served as head of theatrical sales at A24, working on films like Backrooms, Civil War, The Drama, Materialists, and Babygirl.
“Frank is one of the most insightful, analyticial, and creative minds in theatrical distribution,” Sanderson said. “As Bleecker Street continues to reinvent itself and prioritise the cinematic experience, I am so thrilled to have him be the steward of our slate in this exciting time in theatrical distribution.”
Martinez added: “Bleecker Street has established itself as a destination for bold, distinctive filmmaking, and I couldn’t be more excited to join the team. As the theatrical landscape continues to evolve, there is tremendous opportunity to find creative ways to connect great films with audiences.
Bleecker Street’s remaining 2026 theatrical slate includes Alex Gibney’s Elon Musk documentary Musk (October 9); Anton Corbijn’s thriller A Talent for Murder starring Helen Mirren as the author Patricia Highsmith (October 23); Zachary Wigon’s period horror and Un Certain Regard selection Victorian Psycho starring Maika Monroe and Jason Isaacs (November 13); Mike Leigh’s Tender Loving Care (December 4); and cult thriller The Liberation from Guy Nattiv starring Carrie Coon (awards-qualifying run followed by release on January 8, 2027.
